SCC Men's Basketball Vs Lane CC - Now Available On YouTube
The Dolphins opening round loss to Lane Community College at the Pierce College Thanksgiving Tournament is now available on YouTube. The game was tied at half-time, but the Titans went on to a 5 point win 89-85.
SCC Names Steven Del Vecchio and Nahshon George Co-Players of the Week for SCC Men's Basketball
300_7883x.jpgFreshman Steven Del Vecchio and sophomore Nahshon George were named SCC Co-Players of the Week for SCC Men's Basketball for the week of November 19-25. SCC dropped their first three games of the season, losing a wild 129-114 game at home to Northwest Indian College and then dropping two games at the Pierce College Thanksgiving Tournament to Lane CC and South Puget Sound.

Del Vecchio was the only SCC player to score in double figures in all three games for the Dolphins, hitting 19 on the opening tight and scoring 12 and 11 points in the tournament games. He added 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

George did not play in the opening game of the season, but was300_7878x.jpg dominate on the boards at the Pierce tournament, bring down 16 rebounds against Lane CC and then an amazing 25 boards in the South Puget Sound game. He also scored 22 and 15 points in those games.

SCC Men's Basketball Drops 110-101 Game To South Puget Sound
Nahshon George grabbed 25 rebounds for Shoreline, but it was not enough for the Dolphins, as South Puget Sound CC defeated the Shoreline Community College's Men's Basketball Tea
m 110-101 on Saturday at the Pierce College Thanksgiving Tournament.

Shoreline led by 8 points at half-time 55-47, but allowed SPS to score 63 points in the 2nd half to push by SCC and win by 9 points. South Puget Sound shot 72% in the second half.

Dean Viena scored 19 points for SCC, followed by George with 15 and Taylor Nelson added 13. Taylor Nelson scored 12 and Steven Del Vecchio added 10 to round out the double figure scoring for the Dolphins.

Shoreline is off to a 0-3 start but has several players who do not become eligible to play until after the fall quarter is over.

The Dolphins travel to Peninsula College next week to play in a two game tournament.
Dolphins Knocked Off By Lane CC At Pierce Tournament
The SCC Squad led on most categories of the game, except for points off the bench and the final score, 89-84, as Lane Community College defeated the Dolphins at the Pierce College Thanksgi
ving Tournament.

The game was tied at half-time, 44-44, but the Titans were able to outscore SCC by 5 in the half. LCC outscored SCC 48-31 from the bench.

Nahshon George led SCC with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Abdul Mohamad added 17 points and Steven Del Vecchio scored 11 for the Dolphins.

SCC plays South Puget Sound Community College today at 1:00pm in the consolation round. The game can be seen on the "Raider" Online Network at:

If SCC wins today, they will play tomorrow, if they lose, then the tournament is over for the Dolphins.

SCC Men's Basketball Opens Pierce Tournament Today
The Dolphins take on Lane Community College at 2:00pm at the Pierce College Thanksgiving Tournament. 

SCC is 0-1, dropping a 129-114 game to Northwest Indian College on Tuesday night in the SCC Gym, Lane is 1-0 after beating the Concordia JV team 89-58 on November 17.

If SCC wins, they will face the winner of Bellevue College and South Puget Sound CC on Saturday. If they lose, the SCC team will face the loser of the BC/SPSCC game.

teams in the tournament are: Pierce, Linn-Benton, Whatcom and Columbia Basin. The tournament runs through Sunday.

Tournament Opening Day:

Game 1 - Lane vs. Shoreline (2:00 pm) 
Game 2 - Bellevue vs. S. Puget Sound (4:00 pm) 
Game 3 - Columbia Basin vs. Whatcom (6:00 pm) 
Game 4 - Linn-Benton vs. Pierce (8:00 pm)

SCC returns home on December 6th to face the Australian Club Team, "Team NPIRE" for "International Night" at the SCC Gym.

SCC Men's Basketball Drops Opener 129 to 114
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team opened the season with a 129 to 114 loss to Northwest Indian College on Tuesday night in the SCC Gym.

SCC fell behind in the first half by
 10 points but took the lead late in the first half, only to have NWIC comeback again and go into half with a 61-57 lead. SCC's pressing style kept the game moving and points flowing as the Eagles scored 68 points in the second half to take control and the Dolphins could not catch up.

Shoreline was led by Taylor Nelson with 21 points which included 5 three pointers. Steve Del Veccho added 19 and Devan Kohn and Craig Parks added 14 and 11 respectively. 

SCC heads to the Pierce College Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend and opens with Lane Community College on Friday at 2:00pm.

SCC Basketball Season Preview

The Shoreline Community College Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams open their seasons on Tuesday against Northwest Indian College in a doubleheader in the SCC Gym. The Lady Dolphins take the court at 5:30pm while the men’s game is at 7:30pm.

The SCC Lady Dolphin Basketball Team hopes to continue to improve under third year head coach, James Johnson. The team has went 7-17 and 10-15 under Johnson which was a solid improvement over the 3-21 record in 2009-10. Shoreline returns only two players from 2011-12, guard Caitlin Roussopolos who averaged 4.7 points per game, 2.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds and forward Maria Ciraco, who scored 4.8 points per game with 3.75 rebounds. SCC added sophomore Deja Davis from North Seattle CC when NSCC dropped their basketball programs. Davis averaged 2.4 points per game and 2.3 rebounds for the Storm last season. SCC added 8 freshman to the squad.

D30_8246_sc.jpgThe SCC Men’s Basketball Team hopes to continue their high scoring ways in 2012-13, as the Dolphins scored 103 points per game in 2011-12, to lead all community colleges/junior colleges in the country and was the 4th highest scoring team of all college basketball teams in the United States. SCC only returns two players as well from their 2011-13 squad, as sophomores Nahshon George and Artez Scharer return for SCC. Scharer will not play until Christmas break due to NWAACC rules.

SCC went 3-1 at the NWAACC Men’s Basketball Championship and finished 7th. The highest finish for Shoreline in school history. The team finished third in the NWAACC Northern Region with a 10-6 league record and a overall 19-12 mark. The team has a bevy of freshmen and transfers on the roster and hopes to find the right combination to run the “System” (the full court pressing style SCC plays). SCC is led by third year coach, Greg Turcott and former NCAA I and  Loyola Marymount University star, Bo Kimble, has returned as a part-time volunteer assistant to help the team with the offense/defense he ran at LMU and led the NCAA scoring as well.

Admission to the games are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for Non-SCC students, seniors, SCC Faculty/Staff and youth. SCC students and kids 5 and under are free. Season tickets can be purchased as well, $30.00 for adults and $20 for Seniors/Youth/SCC Faculty and Staff.
