Shoreline Community College Basketball Suffers Losses to Edmonds Community College
Going into the night the Shoreline Community College
Dolphins and the Edmonds Community College Tritons knew it would be a battle to
the end. The Dolphins came in looking to upset the Tritons on their Sophomore
night and last home game of the season. The women’s teams played first in quite
the match up to the end. The Tritons pulled out the win with a 68-67 finish.
Directly afterwards the men’s game didn’t finish quite as close with the
Dolphins falling to the Tritons 99-80.
In a close game all the way through the Dolphin Women’s
Basketball team hung in there with their hard working defense. They were able
to cause 23 Triton turnovers that led to 19 of their points. It seemed even
with 5 players scoring in double digits it was not enough to end on top. The Tritons bench players were able to light
it up scoring 33 of the teams points.
After a great fight the Dolphins were not able to hold on.
Directly following the men’s teams took the court, both
teams looking to further secure their playoff hopes. After the loss Shoreline
no longer seems to solely hold it’s NWAACC playoff destiny. However, Edmonds was able to clench the
Northern Region Title and guaranteed 1st seed into the NWAACC
The Dolphin’s Men’s Basketball team had high hopes for a
late push to claim the Northern Region 4th seed and move forward
into NWAACC post season play. Last nights loss has changed those hopes. Moving
into the last 3 games of the regular season the top teams in the Northern
Region are all going to be challenged by each other as they fight for the last
two spots into the NWAACC Championship. Only two games separate Peninsula,
Everett, Bellevue and Shoreline and all have a tough last 3 games ahead of

Shoreline Men’s Basketball Wins 5 In a Row!!
The Shoreline Community College Men’s Basketball team is on
a roll! They have now won 5 games in a row. And it is just in time with only 3
games left to decide who makes it to the NWAACC Playoffs. The Dolphins won
tonight on their home floor against Skagit Valley College 94-84.
Tonight’s game was truly one of ups and downs. The Dolphins
at one time led by as much as 15 but before you knew it the game was within 5
points. Sophomore Center Nashon George was Shoreline’s scoring leader with 23
points and 9 rebounds. Bulla Vienna came away with a double-double off of the
bench scoring 16points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Guard Kadeem Stewart also
had a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists.
For the Skagit Valley Cardinals Riley Newman led the game in
scoring with 29 points. Where the Cardinals suffered the most was in their 18
turnovers. Shoreline was able to convert
many of those into fast breaks leading to 17 of their points.
The Dolphins now have a record of 7-14 overall. They are
currently tied with Bellevue College for 5th place in the region and only one
game behind both Peninsula College and Everett Community College. Needless to
say it is a very tight match for the 3rd and 4th Northern Region spot.
Shoreline is in the hunting for a spot in the NWAACC Conference Tournament in
there next two games.
Shoreline is playing the number one team in the Northern
Region, Edmonds Community College, on Saturday February 16th, 2013 in Edmonds,
WA at 7:00 PM. The Dolphins need help packing the house in Edmonds to help get an upset and continue their win streak.

week once again. Youngblood was a team leader in two big Dolphin wins. The
Dolphins defeated Bellevue College 84-82 in a second half comeback on the road and
took the easy 110-76 win over Olympic College at home.

wins. He had 25 points, 15 from behind the arch in the game against Bellevue.
Against Olympic Youngblood shot an outstanding 50% from 3-point range giving
him a total of 26 points on the night. He also came away with 4 of the 28

College on Saturday at 5:00 pm. The Dolphins need to keep up the winning streak
to stay in the hunt for NWAACC playoffs.
Shoreline Dolphins Soar Past Olympic
It was a great night for Shoreline Community College basketball. The Dolphins swept the Olympic College Rangers in SCC Gym tonight. The women won 73-56 putting up some of their best statistics of the year. Directly following that game the men’s team soared past Olympic with a final score of 110-76.
Many times large deficits don’t tell the whole story. This was not the case tonight. The Dolphins led the majority of the game and had leads as large as 38 points. On the night the Dolphins had a total of 28 steals and forced 35 Ranger turnovers. The
Dolphins also played with great ball movement putting up 25 total assists on the night. This was lead by Dolphin point guard Kadeem Stewart who had 10 assists and 23 points. Joshua Youngblood led the team in scoring once again with 26 points, 21 of which were from behind the arch where Youngblood shot 50%.
The Dolphins hope to continue their high-scoring win streak against the Skagit Valley Cardinals on Wednesday. Shoreline is currently 4-6 in region play and in the playoff hunt. Come out to support the Dolphins February 14th at 7:30pm as they fight to be a contender for the NWAACC Championship!
