* Player of the Week: Kevin Flavin

flavin.jpgSophomore Kevin Flavin was named SCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week as the forward from Oak Harbor High School scored two goals on Saturday to help SCC tie Wenatchee Valley CC in extra time. Flavin scored the tying goal in the 94th minute and gave SCC its first non-loss of the season.

* Player of the Week: Simon Walker
walker.jpgSimon Walker, a sophomore defender from Ballard High School, was named Player of the Week for his play against Walla Walla CC and Treasure Valley CC during the weekend. The SCC team is struggling but Simon has marked his assignments well and has given energy to the team.
* SCC Men’s Soccer Drops Two Games Over the Weekend

The struggling Shoreline Community College men’s soccer team dropped two more games over the weekend, being blanked by the top ranked Walla Walla Community College on Friday and dropping a 4-2 game to Treasure Valley on Saturday. On Friday, the Dolphins played well in the first half, going into halftime tied at 0-0, but the defending NWAACC champions came out smoking in the second half, scoring 3 goals in the first 15 minutes of the period. The first half against Treasure Valley was a see-saw affair, as TVCC scored first, to be answered by SCC, TVCC scored again and again answered by SCC, but then TVCC scored again before half-time and again in the second half, but Shoreline had no answers to those goals.


Shoreline is now 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in the Northern Region. SCC travels to Wenatchee Valley CC on Saturday in their next game.
* Men's Soccer Drops Match To Columbia Basin


The SCC Men's Soccer Team was defeated by Columbia Basin on Saturday, 3-1. Greg Testa scored the lone goal for SCC in the 68th minute. CBC scored 3 goals in a 13 minute span in the first half to secure the victory.


SCC is 0-4 on the season, 0-1 in the Northern Region. SCC faces defending NWAACC Champion, Walla Walla Community College at home on Friday at 4:00 PM and Treasure Valley Community College from Oregon on Saturday at 2:00 PM.

* SCC Men's Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision to Chemeketa

flavin.jpgThe Shoreline Community College’s Men's Soccer Team is 0-3 after dropping a 3-1 match to Chemeketa on Wednesday in Salem, OR. Kevin Flavin scored the lone goal for the Dolphins at the 38 minute mark of the first half.


SCC plays again on Saturday at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA. Game time is 2:00 PM. This is a counting game for Northern Region standings as part of the mandatory crossover games with the NWAACC Eastern Region by the Northern Region in 2010.

* SCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week


Collin Harlow, sophomore goal keeper was named SCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as he stopped 9 shots on goal last week in the SCC 1-0 loss to Tacoma CC. Collin stopped several point blank shots that kept the game close in Dolphins season opener.

The Shoreline Men’s Soccer Team was defeated by Bellevue College yesterday in Salem, OR, 6-1, in a very physical game that several yellow and red cards were issued. SCC plays Chemeketa CC today in Salem as well.


* Shoreline CC Men’s Soccer Drops Opening Game

The SCC men’s soccer team lost to Tacoma Community College on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field 1-0. The Dolphins came out sluggish and allowed Tacoma to dominate most of the first half. SCC goalie Colin Harlow had a good game for SCC, stopping several hard shots on goal.


SCC rallied in the second half and had several good chances to score but could not convert. SCC is 0-1 on the season and travels to Salem, OR on Tuesday and Wednesday to play Bellevue College and Chemeketa Community College.
