SCC Men's Soccer Struggles In Opening Games
SCC Men's Soccer Struggles In Opening Games - Hope to rebound in Home Opener On September 8th.

SCC's new Head Men's Soccer Coach, Steve Neff, opened his first campaign at Shoreline CC in the fashion that most coaches dread in their nightmares, a very bad one. SCC dropped its opening match 7-0 to the Community Colleges of Spokane and then 6-0 to Tacoma Community College at the NWAACC Friendlies To
urnament at the Starfire Complex on Tuesday/Wednesday, August 28-29.

In the opener against the CC of Spokane, the Bigfoot scored early and often to lead 4-0 at halftime and added three more goals in the second half.

Against Tacoma, SCC showed improvement, holding the score to 0-0 late into the first half but gave up a goal right before the half ended. SCC had shown more offense, with several more corner kicks and penetration into the TCC territory than against Spokane. But all came apart in the second half, as the Dolphins gave up an early goal and then the flood gates opened, as TCC scored 4 more goals in just a few minutes to put SCC down 6-0.

SCC will face Pierce College on Saturday, September 8th, in the first region counting game for the Dolphins. The NWAACC Northern Region plays mandatory games against the NWAACC Southern Region this season, the games count in the region standings for both divisions.

But on the positive front, the SCC roster will have several new players on it by the 8th, as new players have been added to team so Coach Neff hopes the new players will add depth to the roster and a better scoring punch, plus sure up the defense.

Game time on the 8th 2:15pm, after the Lady Dolphins play Clackamas at Noon. The game will be at Dolphin Field on the SCC campus.
