Lady Dolphins Go To 3-0, Defeat South Puget Sound 70-41
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team took advantage of an undermanned SPCCC team and blew out the Clippers on their home court in Olympia, WA.

700_2481.JPGSCC was led by Chelsea Padgett with 15 points and Hannah Stanger who scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds with 5 steals. Ashley Savusa scored 10 points and Emily Wilbur added 11 rebounds for SCC. The Dolphins had 26 steals in the game as SPCC only played 6 players in the game and the SCC bench added 44 points to the game total.

The SCC squad travels to Portland CC on Saturday to face the Panthers again at 4:00pm. SCC defeated PCC 68-58 this past Saturday.

Caitlin Roussopolos Named SCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
700_2665_300_3505.JPGShoreline Community College Athletic Department named sophomore Caitlin Roussopolos SCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 19-25. The Lady Dolphins went 2-0 for the opening week of the season in which they defeated Northwest Indian College 100-51 and Portland Community College 68-58.

Roussopolos, a sophomore wing player from Merdian, ID, scored 16 points in the opener against NWIC and followed that up with a 17 point performance against Portland CC. She also recorded 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals in the two games.

Shoreline will face South Puget Sound Community College on Wednesday in Olympic, WA at 6:00pm in their first road game of the season.

Saturday's SCC Women's Basketball victory over Portland Community College is now available on YouTube. The Lady Dolphins shake off a sluggish start to dominant the second half and win 68-58 over the Panthers of Portland CC.

SCC Lady Dolphins Basketball Wins 68-58 Over Portland CC
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team survived a very cold shooting first half (23%) to win 68-58 over Portland Community College on Saturday afternoon in the SCC Gym.

Both teams struggled in the first half to score, but SCC started to hit some shots in the final 5 minutes of the 1st period to take a 29-25 lead at half. In the second half, SCC steadily build a lead, pushing it to 15 points at 52-37 
and went on to a 68-58 win.

D30_0296_sc.jpgCaitlin Roussopolos lead SCC with 17 points and 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Maile Keanu added 13 points and 14 rebounds to dominant the boards for SCC. Chelsea Padgett scored 12 and Ashley Savusa had 11 points to round out the double figure scoring for Shoreline.

SCC is now 2-0 on the season while Portland CC fell to 0-2. SCC plays again on Wednesday at South Puget Sound CC in Olympia and then travels to Portland next Saturday to return the trip to Portland CC.

The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team hopes to keep the offense rolling today in the SCC Gym. After defeating Northwest Indian College 100-51 on Tuesday, SCC faces Portland Community College today at 2:00pm in the SCC Gym.

Shoreline had 6 players in double figures on Tuesday, led by freshman Emily Wilbur with 17 points and sophomore Caitlin Roussopolos with 16. The Dolphins outscored NWIC 44-0 from the bench, as Shoreline showed depth the past few teams have lacked.

Portland CC is 0-1 on the season, after a defeat to Edmonds CC last week in their opener.

Lady Dolphins Win 100-51 In Opener
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball team opened the season with a strong 100-51 win over Northwest Indian College on Tuesday night in the SCC Gym.

SCC started slow but came on strong in second part of the first half to lead 46-28 at half and out scored NWIC 54-23 in the second half.

Freshman Emily Wilbur led SCC with 17 points followed by sophomore Caitlin Roussopolos with 16 points. Other double figure scorers for Shoreline were Deja Davis with 14, Bianca Benavides with 12, and Maile Keanu and Chelsea Padgett with 10 each.

SCC plays at home on Saturday at 2:00pm against Portland Community College.
SCC Basketball - Season Preview

The Shoreline Community College Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams open their seasons on Tuesday against Northwest Indian College in a doubleheader in the SCC Gym. The Lady Dolphins take the court at 5:30pm while the men’s game is at 7:30pm.

D30_0296_sc.jpgThe SCC Lady Dolphin Basketball Team hopes to continue to improve under third year head coach, James Johnson. The team has went 7-17 and 10-15 under Johnson which was a solid improvement over the 3-21 record in 2009-10. Shoreline returns only two players from 2011-12, guard Caitlin Roussopolos who averaged 4.7 points per game, 2.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds and forward Maria Ciraco, who scored 4.8 points per game with 3.75 rebounds. SCC added sophomore Deja Davis from North Seattle CC when NSCC dropped their basketball programs. Davis averaged 2.4 points per game and 2.3 rebounds for the Storm last season. SCC added 8 freshman to the squad.

The SCC Men’s Basketball Team hopes to continue their high scoring ways in 2012-13, as the Dolphins scored 103 points per game in 2011-12, to lead all community colleges/junior colleges in the country and was the 4th highest scoring team of all college basketball teams in the United States. SCC only returns two players as well from their 2011-13 squad, as sophomores Nahshon George and Artez Scharer return for SCC. Scharer will not play until Christmas break due to NWAACC rules.

SCC went 3-1 at the NWAACC Men’s Basketball Championship and finished 7th. The highest finish for Shoreline in school history. The team finished third in the NWAACC Northern Region with a 10-6 league record and a overall 19-12 mark. The team has a bevy of freshmen and transfers on the roster and hopes to find the right combination to run the “System” (the full court pressing style SCC plays). SCC is led by third year coach, Greg Turcott and former NCAA I and  Loyola Marymount University star, Bo Kimble, has returned as a part-time volunteer assistant to help the team with the offense/defense he ran at LMU and led the NCAA scoring as well.

Admission to the games are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for Non-SCC students, seniors, SCC Faculty/Staff and youth. SCC students and kids 5 and under are free. Season tickets can be purchased as well, $30.00 for adults and $20 for Seniors/Youth/SCC Faculty and Staff.
