Employee Bio

Professor Fuell has been teaching political sciences classes at Shoreline since 2006. His specialties are international relations and U.S. foreign policy. He is retired Director of the Global Affairs Center at Shoreline(2008-2018).
Larry is a former U.S. diplomat (Foreign Agricultural Service) who served in Lima, Peru; Beijing, China; and, Guatemala City, Guatemala. He traveled extensively in those countries as well as in other countries in Latin America and Asia. He also lived in Africa where he taught at the University of Jos in Nigeria.
He holds undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and the University of Kentucky, respectively. He previously taught at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, The University of Jos, in Nigeria, and the University of Kentucky.

Employee Bio

Amy Kinsel has taught history at Shoreline since Fall 2004. Her teaching interests include the multicultural, social, and political history of the United States, as well as immigration history, women's history, and history of the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Kinsel is an award-winning historian whose published work focuses on the cultural significance of the American Civil War. An active member of the Organization of American Historians, she served on its Executive Board from 2012-2015.
In addition to teaching, Prof. Kinsel has held leadership roles in the Faculty Senate (2007-2009), in the faculty Federation (2011-2015), and as Dean of Social Sciences & Library (2015-2018).

Employee Bio

Tim Payne has devoted 3 decades in the classroom at Shoreline, Western Washington University, and Washington State University, teaching economics to thousands of students from a multitude of countries and backgrounds.  In the community, he has consulted regional governments, including King County Council and Puget Sound Regional Council, and served as one of the founding members of the Seattle Climate Partnership.  Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Masters of Arts in Economics at Washington State University while working his way through school doing agricultural research.  Some of his early economic research in sustainable agriculture in the Pacific Northwest inspired him to explore  practices of sustainability in other parts of the world, including SE Asia, Central America, and recently in Cuba. Tim considers education and the empowerment of locally-based institutions to be vital in securing sustainable improvements in the lives of people, communities, and the environment.

Employee Bio

Terry L. Taylor came to Shoreline in 1997 after teaching at Augustana College (IL) and the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.  He has been working with the Honors program (now The Honors College) since its inception.  Currently the president of FACTC he is Shoreline's elected representative to the state faculty organization. He has also served twice as the dean of Social Sciences and has been the chair and vice-chair of the Faculty Senate several times.  He has presented papers at national academic conferences and participated in a number of NEH workshops.  He really enjoys the many opportunities afforded at Shoreline to work with his outstanding colleagues in interdisciplinary classes.  Born in Ohio, and raised between El Paso, Texas and Washington, D.C., he has lived in Seattle longer than any other place.
