Employee BioMarisa Herrera came to Shoreline after 7 years of service at University of Washington as the Executive Director for Community Building and Inclusion. At UW, she led the largest college cultural center in the country and established Leadership Without Borders and Any Hungry Husky. She was an adjunct instructor for the Jackson School of International Studies and was an adjunct instructor in the College of Education at UW. She serves on the advisory board to the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE), the Seattle Human Rights Commission and was a board member for Casa Latina.
Prior to her role at UW, she worked at Stanford University, the University of Virginia, UCLA and was a graduate student researcher with the Center for Urban Education at USC.
