Employee Bio

Mark Hankins has been with Shoreline Community College since the Fall Quarter of 1991. He taught the American Honda PACT program for 10 years and then worked as a director for both the manufacturing and automotive programs. He returned to faculty in 2007 to teach the General Service Technician (GST) program.
Marks says that teaching the GST program is the most fun he's had in over 40 years of working with automotive students.
Before coming to Shoreline Mark worked as a service training specialist for Toyota Motor Sales USA in Portland, Oregon. He also taught high school for seven years in Albany, Oregon.

Employee Bio

Luke D. Thompson, M.Ed. - teaches the Tesla START program offered as a capstone course in the automotive technology program. He previously taught at NATEF-accredited high schools in Washington and Michigan. His unique automotive industry experience includes working as a prototype technician at Ford Motor Company's Research and Development Division. Mr. Thompson holds an A.A.S. in Automotive Technology from Henry Ford College, a B.S. from Detroit's Wayne State University in Secondary Career and Technical Education, and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on math and science from the University of Washington. He is a recipient of the ASE Industry Education Alliance "Outstanding Instructor Award" and holds various ASE certifications, including Master Certified Automobile Technician. He is also an author with textbook publisher Goodheart-Willcox, with titles related to automotive math and automotive maintenance and light repair.
