Lisa Malik has spent two decades dedicated to Educational Neuroscience. At Shoreline, Lisa has provided leadership to HO/PE and Business as Acting Dean, and she has played a key role in moving forward strategic work as the Director of Research and Grants and as a Research Analyst. She has provided essential support to campus-wide projects within the Student Learning Experience Coordinating Committee, 2016-2021 Steering Committees, Strategic Enrollment Management, Guided Pathways, and ctcLink.
Lisa earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Dartmouth College. Her research on learning math bridged classroom teaching and brain research. She continued her work in the Spatial Intelligence Learning Center, an NSF Science of Learning Center, at the University of Chicago examining how emotions affect math achievement and brain function. Lisa came to Shoreline Community College after briefly consulting with a large school district to create a reporting system for special education.
