Employee Bio

Matthew Loper has over 25 years of teaching experience at the college level in the topics of biology, botany, environmental science and chemistry.  His past research interests include membrane transport, the effects of Acid Precipitation on plants and taxol biosynthesis by the Pacific yew.  Recently his focus has turned to conservation biology, particularly rare plant conservation.  He supervises an active undergraduate research program focusing on stream ecology and biodiversity assessment of local Boeing Creek Watershed.
